Waycross Community Media was chosen as the 2014 Business of the Year by the City of Forest Park and the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented at the annual Forest Park Business Recognition Breakfast on November 11.
"Waycross is always there" said Nancy Goins, chamber President. "We have numerous events throughout the year - meetings, etc., and they are always there ready for filming and checking our AV. Forest Park is lucky to have their center on Waycross Road."
"We are honored to receive this award" said Chip Bergquist, Waycross Executive Director. "Our volunteers and staff work to provide coverage of meetings and events in Forest Park and the Winton Woods Schools and we appreciate this recognition of their hard work."
Waycross is a community media center that provides exciting opportunities to learn, communicate, share ideas, and build community. Waycross provides Public, Educational and Government programming services to Forest Park, Greenhills, Colerain Township and Springfield Township.
The Waycross staff of 5 and 150+ volunteers produce a wide variety of community events - from the monthly Council, Trustee, and school board meetings to community events, high school sports, concerts and more. These events can be seen on Time Warner Cable and Cincinnati Bell Fioptics Cable and online.
Local residents, non profits, and businesses can also receive video training and use television production equipment to create and cablecast a non-commercial program on the topic of their choice.
