THANK YOU to our Volunteers

At our 30th Anniversary picnic last Saturday, Waycross recognized a number of volunteers for their hard work and dedication over the past year.

Our Volunteer of the Year is Butch Culbreth. Butch participated in 95 productions as a volunteer, and produces his own program - The Shekinah Glory Hour.

Our Producer of the year is Larry Vogt, producer of the Central Baptist Hour.

Production Crew of the Year honors go to Steve Coaston and crew, including Vickie Williams, Greg Evans, and Butch Culbreth. Steve produces 4 shows here at Waycross.

Our Rookie of the Year award goes to Matt Wood, who since joing us in June of 2011 has participated on 22 production crews.

Our Golden Tripod recipients this year were Tom Bruckmann, Jonathon Palmer, Hugh Staples, Jason Dudley and Cary Fallath. The Silver Lens Cap award went to Deborah Arnold, Marlene Brown, Ryan Chimeny, Lyn Brown and Matt Wood.

At the picnic, we were treated to visits from two staff members from the early days of Waycross - Deb Vinsel and Julie Williams. Deb was our first official employee in 1983, and did training, production and just about everything else. Julie joined us in the mid '80's - also doing just about everything around here. Deb is currently the Executive Director of Thurston Community Television in Olympia, Washington. Julie is a hearing officer with the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation in Columbus. It was great to catch up with them!
